Embracing the Evolution of My Business: Finding My YES! and My Voice

15 years ago, I went out on my own and developed a way of working with Unique Learners. The key was being present with the families, young people, teachers and mental health care professionals I was there to serve. I focused intensely on being in the moment and using my intuition in my work. I knew it was important to follow my inner knowing and to innovate instead of sticking to only what I had been taught in school.

The challenge in creating this business has been turning that inner experience and knowing into a form that others can grasp and repeat. I want to share my ideas and work with as many people as I possibly can because I believe we are at a turning point with how we identify, consider and teach our Unique Learners.

My work in creating Be Brilliant U has been to find a form that accurately demonstrates and replicates my process and the work I believe to be of value for our Unique Learners.

Also, it has been a challenge to figure out a way to get the word out by myself only to realize that I am not alone. Yes, I have been off on my own developing some very innovative ways to support our children in their learning (and will continue to do so), but I am not the only one out there who is taking these steps. There are people who are innovating how we provide a space for ALL OF our children to learn – not just some who are well suited for a traditional model. I happen to believe that ALL young people could benefit from innovation within our educational system. And I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Essentially, creating this new form and bringing it to a bigger playing field, when my process with young people has been very one-on-one, has been the greatest challenge. My process is to connect with them, hold space for what is possible for them, teach them about themselves as learners and support them in relieving stress and enjoying life.

Just through seeing them, understanding them and having them receive that; I can see their Brilliance. Once I can help others do the same, I will know I have met these challenges. And I know our world will change for the better. I see that day coming and I look forward to sharing this work on a much larger scale. I hope you’ll join me there.
